What should one know about NGO registration?

Non-governmental organizations, or NGOs, are non-profit or not-for-profit businesses that strive to improve society and pursue philanthropic causes. In India, the word “NGOs” is used as a catch-all and covers Section 8 companies, trusts, and societies.
